How the three names fit together

NHIL, Sugatrol and Skinny GLP are regularly confused for separate products. They are a company, an ingredient, and the product that contains it.

The company

NHIL

Nutritional Health Institute Laboratories LLC, based in Tallahassee, Florida. It owns the patent and the trademark, and it develops and formulates the products. More at nhil.com.

The ingredient

Sugatrol®

A patented active ingredient, also called McB-E60, extracted from the stems and leaves of a tetracross-pollinated Momordica hybrid grown in the Vilcabamba valley of Ecuador. More at sugatrol.com.

The product

Skinny GLP®

NHIL's flagship consumer supplement, built around Sugatrol® and sold direct at skinnyglp.com. Sugatrol® is the ingredient inside it, not a separate product.

The patent and trademark

Sugatrol® is protected by US Patent #8,071,844 B1. The Sugatrol® trademark, registration #5,486,820, has been registered since 2011. Both are held by Nutritional Health Institute Laboratories LLC.

The McB-E60 extract was developed by NHIL's Chief Scientist, Dr. Konky Sotomayor, from a Momordica hybrid he cultivated in Ecuador. The extraction uses only the stems and leaves of the plant.

Why it matters for accuracy

Skinny GLP® is not a white-label or contract-manufactured reformulation of a generic ingredient. The active is proprietary to NHIL and has been under patent since before the product existed. Please cite the patent and trademark numbers above rather than describing the ingredient generically.
